TALDE PRIVATE EQUITY announces the sale of its stake in Iberfibra Group, a company based in Madrid which provides telecommunications services to private homes and businesses.
Talde Private Equity, owner of 25% of the shares through its vehicle Talde Capital II, FCR since 2011, has sold the entirety of its stake to the principle shareholders. The return on Talde´s investment has been satisfactory.
During the period of Talde´s involvement in the Holding, the group underwent an important transformation, especially with regards to its activity of commercializing Iberdrola´s fiber optic network, more than 17,000 kilometers around Spain and with interconnection to its principle data centers.
Iberfibra has also been the No.1 telecommunication provider constructing 4G-LTE network stations with 3.5GHz frequencies with national coverage.
In 2015, Masmóvil bought Iberfibra´s telecommunication operator Neo Operador. Masmóvil is a provider of telecommunications services (fixed line, mobile and internet for private homes, companies and operators). It is listed on the MAB and is now the 4th biggest telecommunications company in Spain.
Talde, which celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, is a private group pioneering in Private Equity in Spain. Founded in 1976, the group has taken part in over 150 investment projects, where it has given support in both initial steps and consolidation and expansion phases, in industrial and services sectors. Since November 2015, it has had two vehicles in the investment phase: the traditional vehicle, Talde Promotion and Development, SCR, and the new fund, Talde Growth Capital, FCR, with joint resources exceeding €120 million.
The Talde Group portfolio includes companies such as: Rotecna (design, production and marketing of plastic products mainly applied to farm equipment in the pork sector), Deltalab (manufacturing and marketing of laboratory consumables), Ñaming (processing and distribution of fresh and ready-to-eat foods) Retineo (restoration of buildings and unique monuments), and Residencias Nostem (operation and management of two residences and two day centers). The most recent divestments include those made in Palacios Alimentación, Noa Visual Group, Biopolis and Grupo BC, recently given the award for the best Growth Capital Transaction of 2015 by the Spanish Private Equity Association.
